The Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce the release of the Marin City Stormwater Plan 2025. This final report builds on the Marin City Drainage Study (2018) and incorporates concepts from the Southern Marin Watershed Guide (2016) and the People’s Plan (2018) to provide a comprehensive look at current flooding and drainage challenges in Marin City.
The plan evaluates a range of potential improvements for both the upper and lower watershed. It blends detailed technical analysis with extensive community input and collaboration with Caltrans to identify strategies that can:
- Improve overall drainage system performance
- Reduce flood risk for homes, businesses, and community assets
- Strengthen long-term watershed resilience
The final report and appendices are now available for download.
This plan reflects years of study, community conversations, and partnership—and represents a significant step forward in planning for a safer, more flood-resilient Marin City.
