Marin City Stormwater Plan 2025

About the Plan

The Marin City Stormwater Plan 2025 is a study focused on reducing flood risks in Marin City, an unincorporated community near Richardson Bay. The plan looks closely at current flooding challenges and identifies practical, community-supported solutions to improve flood resilience.

What the Plan Does

  • Describes the flooding and drainage issues that affect roads, homes, community spaces, infrastructure, and local businesses
  • Recommends and prioritizes flood-reduction projects, shaped by community input
  • Identifies ways to improve day-to-day flood management operations
  • Aligns with ongoing Caltrans planning and projects
  • Helps position Marin City for future funding opportunities

This plan builds on more than a decade of previous drainage and stormwater studies. Many technical solutions have already been identified through those studies and community conversations—some of which are already moving into design and implementation (such as the Marin City Pond Pump Station Design project). A major goal of this effort is to clearly explain these technical solutions to the Marin City community, supporting shared understanding and future implementation of the plan.
