The District has been awarded two new grants for the restoration work at Deer Island Basin:
- Approximately $7 million from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
- Around $2.4 million from the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority (SFBRA)
We’re in the process of accepting these grants and gearing up for construction, which is slated to kick off in the summer of 2025. The project will span two construction seasons, with an expected completion date by fall 2026. Construction of this project is made possible through the grants from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority.
