Thank you to the community members who have shared their interest in, and questions regarding, the Building Bridge 2 (BB2) Removal Project (part of the San Anselmo Flood Risk Reduction Project). We recognize the importance of clear, consistent communication for a project of this scale and are committed to improving engagement and enhancing transparency.
We’re taking the following steps to ensure the community is informed on the latest project developments:
- Frequently Asked Questions
We have updated the Frequently Asked Questions webpage to address common questions and concerns raised by residents. We will update these responses as necessary and appropriate. The District has also developed a glossary explaining key terms and acronyms.
- Upcoming Presentations
District staff will present updates and answer questions at upcoming San Anselmo and Ross Town Council meetings. These meetings are a key opportunity for the public to learn more and share input. A recording of the February 27, 2025 Flood Zone 9 Advisory Board meeting is available here.
- Direct Notifications
As part of the District’s Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) application to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), any owners of property projected under project modeling to experience a rise in Base Flood Elevation due to the bridge removal will receive direct notification in the second quarter of 2025 prior to the submittal of the CLOMR. Approximately 480 properties are projected to experience a reduction in flood levels or be removed completely from flood inundation, but some properties are projected to experience a minimal rise.
- Technical Q&A
A detailed Questions & Answers webpage has been posted to address specific and technical questions raised by the community. This resource will be updated regularly as the District answers additional questions.
We are grateful for the community’s continued engagement as we work to reduce flood risk across the region. Feedback is vital in helping us ensure that all residents are informed, heard, and supported throughout this process.
